There are a few thing I would not exchange with the world, my best friends being among them.
As Edmund Spencer wrote: “My verse your virtues rare shall eternize, And in the heavens write your glorious name.” words and verses remain while we will all be gone someday. These words reflect our moments, ups and downs, mean jokes, evil grins, beautiful smiles, grave silences, hearty laughter, sympathetic attention, and last but not least all our passionate conversation.
To Hana
Hana’s the name, Hana’s great,
She’s the one no one can hate,
At Persian tables, she wouldn’t wait,
But for English, she won’t be late.
On a celebrity she has crush,
We can’t see if her cheeks blush,
Her kindness, though, to all extends,
She wouldn’t say no to a bowl of ASH.

To Mithri (Dadash)
In the world, there’s one Mithridates,
From Khorasan to United States,
Mornings spent sleeping or in trades
But on Hilokal, he dominates.
He is Dadash to all of us,
He acts so cool without a fuss,
Give him a topic and he’ll discuss,
from chicken’s milk to flag of Texas.

To Azra
She is Aaaazra, pronounce it longer,
Don’t think she’s weak, she’s stronger,
It’s not the glasses that make her smart,
It takes Giovanni to confront her.
She’s the queen of Javanrood,
Mostly kind and sometimes rude,
She can laugh and make everyone laugh,
If and only if she’s in a good mood.

To Sepi
She is Sepi of course, no need to ask,
She remains hidden behind a mask,
She wouldn’t connect, this net is absurd,
Even if she had all the VPNs in the world.
She’s in high spirits, lively and joyous,
Cheers us up when people annoy us,
She keeps inviting that guy Nemo,
Milena might eventually destroy us.
__________________________
To Yasi
She is Yasi and she’s unique,
So smart and she’s got technique,
Offends no soul as she does speak,
She lives on Hilo all the week.
She knows the way to premium and beans,
She’d join trainers’ tables by all means,
Almost everyone knows her now,
Including trainers from Philippines.

To Milena
She’s Milena, say Nazar Olmasin!
Mashallah! what a good kid she’s been
While eating, she makes shapoor shipoor,
Oh! this Dard has sadly no cure.
She has a lot of imaginary lovers,
Jigar after jigar she discovers,
From Turkish dishes that she offers,
Every hungry human suffers.

To Pari
She’s Pari and not easy to catch,
She mixes foods that don’t match,
She leaves at times with no goodbye,
Because of that green circle badge.
She can’t hear me so I try
But turns out all she did was lie,
She’s sociable and at times so shy,
Everyone’s happy if she can come by.

To Amir
He is Amir and to Meet he goes,
Nothing but kindness he shows,
This is a fact that everyone knows,
They call him when a VPN slows.
He’s jolly and from Jahrom,
But he’d rather go to Rome,
Although nowhere can be home,
He lives in Google chrome.

To Shadi
She’s Shadi and her name means joy,
Peppa pig is the show she’d enjoy,
She’s a nurse, to her, needle’s a toy,
Which no one can escape even a cowboy.
She finally left her comfort zone,
Traveling south and west on her own,
Jamais, she’s got a good earphone!
Beit’ha yekhrib she’s so well-known.
__________________________
To Jojo
She’s Jojo and she’s from Iraq
With a mean boss she’s stuck
She’s into Falafel, she’s got luck
She often sleeps at 1 o’clock
To London she likes to go
With the salary that is too low
She has a rich family though
And she’s so kind as we know
(*composed with Hana’s help)
__________________________
To Raj
He’s Raj and comes from Bombay,
A lawyer that works hard all day,
But makes people fight I’d say,
Turning imagination into hearsay.
He comes from the land of spices,
He wouldn’t say no to one or two slices
Of veggie pizza at low or high prices,
But veggies? What kind of advice is!

To Rina
She’s Rina and she outsleeps a bear ,
She has a voice that’s cute but so rare
She has a long curly brown hair,
Joining tables here and there.
She’s looking for a man who’s rich
I hope her plan works without a hitch
European, American, Chinese but which
Can be a good husband, not a snitch.
